Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is Microblading?

Microblading is the art of inserting pigment into the upper layers of your skin to create a beautiful, full, natural-looking eyebrow design using a manual process. Microblading, when done by a skilled professional, results in an incredibly realistic and smudge-proof brow.

How long does it last?

This procedure is considered semi-permanent and your results last approximately 18 months, depending on your skin, beauty products, skin type and use of sunscreen.

Microblading is a 2 step procedure with the initial and the perfecting session 6 weeks later. This ensures that the color is locked into the epidermis and doesn't leave the skin completely. It is recommended to have a yearly ColorBoost to maintain and revitalize your look.

Does it hurt?

Before the procedure begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic. You might feel a slight discomfort but most experiences are painless. Positive and fun conversations during the service can be expected. Your comfort is top priority.

Am I a candidate for microblading?

Microblading is an ideal option for most. However, there  are a few contraindications that may require a doctor's note before your service. The service is not performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Contact us if you are under the care of a physician to see if you qualify.

What does a microblading service entail?

During your first session (approximately 2 hours), we custom design your brow shape using a brow mapping method based on your bone structure, eye placement, face shape, and desired look.

Once your shape and pigment are discussed and agreed upon, the area of service will be numbed using a lidocaine cream.

There is no down time after the service! Many clients can walk right out the door ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in color, your new brows will soften in 5-14 days and carry a beautiful, wonderfully natural look of perfection and fullness.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can see what you are used to. Feel free to bring in photos of brows your LOVE! They can be on your or someone else. It gives us an idea of of your goals.

Please leave your brows as full as possible. Any shaping we will take care of and we like to utilize all the hair we can. Do not wax, tweeze, or thread a minimum of 3 days before your appointment.

Plan any tropical vacations a minimum of 14 days after your procedure as you need to protect your new brows from the sun and water.

Do not take Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment.

Avoid alcohol 48 hours prior to your appointment and limit caffeine 24 hours before

Avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit.

What can I expect through the healing process?

Immediately after your brows will appear bolder and sharper than they will heal.

Day 2- Brows will be dramatically darker and seem a bit thicker due to the skin healing.

Day 3-15- Brows will peel and seem very light

Day 15- 42- Brows will reappear and may be a bit patchy.

After 6 weeks the brows will be completely healed and this is when we perfect them with your Perfection Session.

For most clients, minimum of two treatments are usually needed, 6-8 weeks apart.

With most procedures, the color looks dramatically lighter after the first week. Some clients prefer this, while others go for a bolder look. At your perfecting session, we will assess the color retention and and make adjustments as necessary.

Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly after the first procedure, this is normal. We can easily go darker and add more fullness during your perfecting session
